If it's just to see if the wires to the pumps carry a voltage, then a simple test light should suffice.

The simplest test to see if power is getting to the pumps is actually to hear them run, then you'll also know the fuel relay is working (known for failing).
The thing about the LH-Jetronic 2.4 is that it cuts power to the pumps if the engine is not running (except for about 1-2 seconds after switching on ignition). You can force the pumps to run by using a jumper wire between two fuses, as explained here.
Especially the main pump under the car should be audible. Maybe a bit less so if it's an original Bosch but many aftermarket replacements can be quite noisy.
