Thread sealant for B18 temperature sender threads? 444-544

That's odd as the threads are not supposed to seal the stock water sender.

The shape of the probe part of the sender is what makes the seal.

Try using some Permatex #2 non hardening sealant on the face of the probe that seats on the surface inside the head.

Is there any chance someone has replaced the capillary tube in an effort to repair the gauge?

I saw a thread a long time ago about a DIY repair where the stock capillary tube is removed and new 1 from an aftermarket gauge is installed.

Aftermarket gauges use a nut that isn't long enough to push the probe in far enough to make a proper seal inside the head and we have a fix that.
