Seat Belt Retractors 900 1994

my 88 ford van has those recoil things and Ive always wondered if they should lock when I jerk them or slam on the brakes but Ive never been able to make them lock. the belt itself doesn't retract a lot further than when I'm wearing it. I have always wondered if they have failed or were just like that. I put rear seats from a Delica van in it for driver and passenger, they have long tracks and swivel and lap belts. captains seats basically.

here we have to wear them or we get tickets and Ive had lots of tickets for that with the additional lap belts I can snap them on , they saved me fine before, because I can put them on fast without reaching up to the pillar.

and yes you should wear your seat belt. Drive safely ;-)
