Water and Steering Pumps rebuild 900

Checking my records it would appear that I added 5/32" shims (fender washers) on the front mounting bolts of the power steering bracket. That was in April of 2018, 38,000 miles ago. However, I went back not long after that and added additional washers because the first fix didn't end up being enough.

I did not have to remove the pump. I just loosened the bracket as much as I could and then removed one bolt at a time and slipped the washers into place before tightening things up. I had to increase the length of the mounting bolts associated with the washers to get enough of the bolts into the block to feel comfortable that they had enough penetration.

I think I would clean up that pump with brake cleaner and snug up the clamp on that hose and keep an eye on it to see if that was the problem.
