Oil pump drive question

>When Volvo changed to the OHC redblocks, they made it with 2 drives, 1 for the distributor and 1 for the >oil pump so they are 2 separate shafts driven by the intermediate shaft.

So I have an intermediate shaft from a 240 and it incorporates the gear that drives the distributor (that in turn drives the oil pump).

How does the intermediate shaft from a 7/9 engine drive the oil pump? I am under the impression that because the gear isn’t needed for the cam driven distributor it was eliminated on the intermediate shaft.

When moving the distributor to the block of a b230ft (using a shaft from a 240) how is the oil pump driven?
