1992 245 fuel supply problem. Great car! 200 1992

Really does smell like there's no wiring to the tank fuel pickup assembly for either the fuel sender and as well the pre-pump. It may well have been that way for some time with the main pump able to handle the load, especially if the tank was normally kept reasonably full. The tank now having run dry, the fuel line to the main pump is now dry and as well the main pump. Having now added gas to load the in-tank side of the fuel line a bit, the line up and out of the tank and down to the main pump is still dry. Without the pre-pump being present and able to push some fuel up to the pump, there isn't any fuel to prime the main pump and it may not have enough suction to pull fuel up and out of the tank.
