Lower trip clips 164E 140-160

164E restoration project:

I'm having the car completely repainted. I've removed _everything_ so the painter can concentrate on his work.

The stainless-steel trim strips below the doors use a different trim clip than all of the other trim on the car. The trim clip is wider, part # 680462. All of the Volvo restoration / classic parts websites have the clip in their catalogues, but no one has availability. None of them can tell me if of when they might become available again. Some sites list is as "no longer stocked".

Has anyone used an alternative clip (maybe from the 240 model) to attach the bottom trim molding? Maybe there is another way to attach the trim?

Thanks,
Adam
