Great for normally aspirated 240 with care. Use a quality lubricant, the Volvo synthteic gearbox oil, Amsoil Super Shift synthetic type F, what Redline offers.

Not Dexron, not mercon, and such.

Keep the clutch cable adjusted with good free play.

Look at the drain and fill plugs, Like my red 1990 wagon rottin to death in MOe state, the drain plug as a magnet. Clean that. Lots o silver in the drain fluid. Hmmmm...

Verify good condition motor / transmission mounts.

Behind the M37 on 24o is a f,ex couple or guibo, not a U-Joint.

M47 and M47 II can form leaks through the awful, now brittle paper thin gaskets.

Read up on M47 and the gear box fluid overfill.

1990 240 with M47 may have Bosch L-Jetronic 3.1 injection.
