HELP...HOW TO CONVERT 240 WAGON TO NON-ABS BRAKES

Hi Randy. I used to always go for the Volvo seal kits, but these have been NLA for years. For quite a few years now I've been getting my caliper seal kits from RockAuto, with Raybestos being my preferred brand, but others are likely of similar quality. Finding them in-stock can be variable. Check part numbers as many ways as you can to assure fitment, mm diameter being the critical spec. I've not had an order problem other than the number of seals in the picture not matching the listing and I got a free set from them.

Re-building calipers with new seals isn't a big chore once you master the basics of popping the pistons (on the bench with a bicycle pump and tapered plastic adapter, compressed air rarely needed), inspecting for rust/scuffing/scoring to see if you need a better piston (good used is fine) and needing to press them back in perfectly square (a 6" C-clamp my preferred weapon for the 700/900 front single piston calipers), using brake fluid for lubricant in the process and knowing how to mInimize the mess and fluid loss from the lines.

I've successfully re-built at least 10 Volvo calipers over the years, one needed a new piston I got from a yard, one needed a new bleeder, and one recent one I botched putting it back together in a rush and tore a new seal, soon evidenced by brake fluid on the floor overnight and I instantly knew what I'd done.
