Volvo 960 piston ring job 1996

Hi everyone. I have one more knee replacement scheduled this coming week, but as I recover I intend to get my 960 back on the road. The engine sat for 18 months, and the pistons stuck in the bores, but after soaking for a month they're free now. I just need to know if the oil pan can be pulled without pulling the engine? I'd appreciate your thoughts on this!
