For 1991 front strut with or without ABS?

The struts here are marked as one side with ABS and the other without. As these are consecutively numbered, one is a typo as to whether ABS present or not, I'll guess:
940, 960. 740. 760. All. Left. With abs. With strut. Driver's Side (LH).

Volvo Genuine Classic Parts catalogue may list more PNs specific to your market and may (ha) more clearly indicate the ABS or not ABS option.

Ask at the free and if no quality answer, pay for it site. Someone may have a set of front struts and springs that will fit the early 940 estate.
I do not see any struts and springs at FCP Euro either.

Please consider that any used strut you find may need to be sand / bead blasted and powder coated.
A cause of the lower strut seat / saddle rusting are clogged drain holes. The drain holes are interruption or breaks in the weld bead to drain the lowest part of the lower seat. Corrosion forms as all of these holes clog. An issue on the larger diameter 240 front strut seats, yet the drain holes at the bead on 240 struts are larger.
Scotland breakers - use Google or other search you like for used parts or breaker in Scotland. Dunno where you are in the motherland (for me):

As for springs, you may want to buy new. Moog may make a matching set, or a set that fits 940 front and rear yet may be heavy duty or a different spring rate.
Watch the front strut mounts as these can fail. Few are made well and Volvo no longer makes these or uses the ones made by SKF or Boge as they did in the production run.
I doubt the three strut mount are worth it:

Also, while in there, consider strut rod bushing and other lower front assembly suspension bushing replacement replacement if not already.
Verify the stub axles are in spec and without scoring, blueing, or unusual wear otherwise. Your 940 uses tapered bearings in a race up front and roller bearings in the rear. Rear bearings are lubricated by NLGI-2 grease, not differential fluid. Also, any flexible brake line may need an inspect and possible replace at their age. Use a Motive power pressure or like brake fluid bleeder that presses out the old fluid with new DOT 4 without gear or air migrating past the brake bleeder to caliper threaded interface as can happen when someone uses the brake pedal or gravity bleed. Use urethane bushes? Lube with silicon grease, NLGI 2 also.
Solid "live" rear axle or independent rear suspension (IRS)?
Motor and transmission mounts okay also?
Hope that halps you!
