Wow. What can I say! Sorry I have not reacted to your very informative post before but I had my old email address still listed and was not receiving updates via email.

I can say that the parasitic draw that was draining the battery appears to have ceased since I removed the radio board [I don't know what else to call it] and left it on the front seat.

I will reread your post a couple of times more before making any decisions about what to do with the radio for the future.
