1989 244 118k miles 200

I recently deactivated the EGR sys. on our 1989 244. I did it by replacing the exhaust manifold with a non EGR one. I plugged the intake side with gasket materal. I have no engine light, but my mileage is not what it should be. I plan on replacing the ECU with a non EGR unit. I will also replace the O2 sensor. Do I have to replace the ignition module? (EZK).
Also where is the best buy on a ECU?(no China) They are a bit pricey; I try to use Bosch as much as possible.
Thanks for your help.
Bob
