Burned out Lamp Sensor 200 84

I'm working on a friend's '86 245, and can't seem to get the brake lites to work correctly. I replaced 3 bad bulbs in the rear lite housing, and cleaned the terminals and electo-greased the lot. The dual filament bulbs in the bottom lamp light when the brakes are pressed, but the upper lamps and 3rd light don't.

Looking at a wiring diagram, it looks like everything goes back to the Burned Out Lamp Sensor (the idiot light for same is lit..). Volvo wants $98 for the sensor. Anyone do this already? Otherwise, I'm going to Pick 'n Pull.
