1st. speed and Cold Duck. 200 90

I've got a small problem with the 1st. speed on my 245 wagon. I replaced the blower motor last year, a tedious job but not as bad as I thought. The other day I replaced the 4 speed switch with hopes of getting a low blower setting. No dice. Oh where, oh where has my 1st. speed gone?? Never had it in the 6 years I've owned the car.

Also, why is the heat warm on the drivers side but blows much colder on the passenger side? Who done what,me,worry...... previously to me owning this brick?? I replaced the heater control valve 3 years ago, also the radiator and 2 thermostats, one of them a 92 C.. I believe somebody was phartin' around with the duct work before I owned this car. I don't notice anything unusual looking on the passenger side with the glove box out. Need help from anyone who has heard of this problem before. Cold Duck
