Steering vibrates 900 1995

Hi, I'm from Singapore and its been sometime since I last participated in this forum. The model of my car is the 960 sedan (known as the 964 I think). Lately the steering wheel of my car vibrates whenever I travel any faster than 70 mph. Since the front tires were quite worn, I replaced them with brand new ones. I had the wheel alignment checked and the tires balanced (high speed, on wheel balancing). Unfortunately, the problem is still there. Figured that there could be something wrong with the suspension or steering parts. The shocks on the car has never been changed and mileage is about 60,000 miles. Could the old shock absorbers be the problem? Hope someone can help advise. Thanks.
