upgrading generator to high output alternator 444-544 1961

Hey all,

I've got my p-210 on the road, but the generator isn't pumping out what I need or would like to get. I'm thinking about putting in an alternator. What do I need to know and do to do this? Can I just get rid of my voltage regulator and just hook up an alternator? What brand or type of alternator should be used with a b-20 engine. If I'm not mistaken, doesn't an alternator have a voltage regulator built in? If anyone has done the alternator upgrade, please advise me on how to do it and what I should use. Thanks for the reply on my carb. question. I'll clean it out and see if there's any sticking.

Thanks in advance,

Jay Levine
