Lousy Gas Milage 200 1992

Hello all,

I have a 92 244, GL 118,000 miles. I have had the car for about Two months and can't get better then 22 MPG. I also have a 88 740 and Can get 26-28 easily. So what gives?

The check engine light was on, sent the code for mass air flow sensor. So I replaced it and Voila, light goes off but still crappy gas milage. Should this car have a locking touque converter? I have checked the operation of the air box thermostate, works fine.

The splash gaurd, belly pan is in place. I have replaced in the last 4,000 miles,

Timming belt (no indication it is not correct)

Plugs

Cap

Wires

Rotor

Flame trap

Could it be the oxogen sensor? It doesn't show the code but gives all the signs

Doesn't have any serious power loss, so I have eliminated clogged cat.

Engine temp seems correct, I have the correct temp thermostate in it.

Give me any ideas

Thanks

Pete
