Oil Temp gauge wiring? 200 82T

Hey

Got meself one of them oil temperature gauges and senders of the VDO style.

The sender is the drain plug style with one circular connection on the non-threaded end.

The sender has me quite confused as to how to hook it up.

The gauge has a 3 connector wiring harness and a small black circular thing with 2 wires. I know the latter one is for the illumination at night.

The 3 connector wiring harness has me quite confused.

the embossed symbols are G, a line perpendicular to another, a +.

The G has 1 green/black wire coming out of it.

The line perpendicular to another has 2 brown wires.

The + has 2 blue/black wires.

I would assume one of those is for ground, one for signal, but dont know about the third.
