THey are are a Dutch built small Volvo. Produced after Volvo bought DAF. THe 340 had either manual transmission or variomatic, with a 1400 cc Renault engine.

The 360 is MUCH more fun, Manual 5 speed transaxle, based on 200 series gearbox, a torgue tube links the bell hosing to the gearbox diff assembly. B19 or B200 engine, same block as a 200 just smaller capacity. I have a 360 GLT B19E Which is the electronic injection a la 700. De Dion rear suspension. It was available as a three door hatch. Five door hatch, or five door with boot
