Charging/Short/??? 900 91

I have installed a working altenator (from another car that read 14.6 V)and still only read 12 v on my rig(no increase in Voltage with engine acceleration. Have checked and re-checked terminals and am still not finding the problem (wiring appears to be in excellent condition). This all began it seems with the SRS light coming on. Now, I seem to get all kinds of the dummy lights turning on at startup (check engine, oil, and the SRS). When turning(fairly aggressively), the entire row of dummy lights is coming on and then they go off as I ease out of the corner. After having read many of the toubleshooting FAQ's and still not resolving my problem, I thought I'd post this in hopes that someone has encountered my same problem and can give me a direction to look/check???
