water pump squealing noise when cold with a leak? 200 82

my water pump when startin up in the mornings or after the car has sat for a while will make a squealing noise and then go away. i noticed this morning that some water had leaked onto the top of the water pump. the pump is about 2yrs old so i would be disappointed if this means that the pump is bad. could it be a seal leaking? the car runs great after warming up and does not come anywhere near overheating. thanks will
