Re: Muffler-Exhaust system 700 1990

Go with the stock Volvo system. Comes in two parts. One is a box with all the mufflers and pipes. The other part is a bag with all the hanger hardware specific to your car. Everything fits! No BFH adjustments needed. The connections are not banged up, so everything slips together.

When the pipe between the two mufflers on my '87 745T let go 3 1/2 years ago, it took me about 45 minutes to remove the old system and install the new. It was actually a pleasure considering the grief exhaust systems normally give me. BTW, I do not have a torch to cut the old stuff out. Just put a cut-off wheel on my Drumel tool and carefully slit open the pipe between the cat and front muffler. System has been on the car for 3 1/2 years and looks fine considering the salt laden winters we get here in Rochester, NY. My old 240s got usually 2 winters out of a muffler shop system. Granted 240 systems by design tended to be more prone to decay, but the muffler shop exhaust systems were made out of C%$&@.

Good luck,
