Jay,

You may not like the idea of the volvo, or whatever, but being given the car, hell, i wouldn't complain! Also, personally, if someone gave me the car, be courteous and pass the car on for free (or maybe charge the, for the remaining rego or something), if you sell it, it'd make sense that you would offer the money to the person who gave you the car.....

Volvo 740's have their problems, BUT, no other car in the world has the exact same problems over the globe, but because it does, the brickboard exists. If i had the opportunity, i would buy my car again. The ride is good, plenty of torque, enough power the keep me happy, big, comfy, good on fuel, if you don't floor it everywhere, overall, quite a nice car to drive. Like i said, the 740's all have the exact same problems, most caused by volvo not looking far enough into the future for several small parts.....everything that goes wrong is dead simple and cheap to fix (usually!), and ever since i got my 740 i've been damned happy with it. Believe it or not, i've also fallen in love with the shape too. As hard as it may be to understand (most 740 owners will agree) the 740's are a damn good car, to own and drive.
