Automatic tranny Overdrive 200 1990

Hi All,

The overdrive on my 1990 240 wagon is stuck in the "off" position--I was driving at about 65-70 mph and it went out suddenly. The orange arrow came on in the instrument panel, and pushing the button on the gear selector has no effect at all. My wife says that she heard a funny noise coming from right where the OD relay is in the dash next to the glove--any chance that it's as simple as replacing the relay, or it it more likely to be the solenoid? How can I test?

Thanks,

Stephen Buckley
