88 740 turbo intercooled
I've posted here in the past few days, and have received many peices of good advice.I think I have narrowed my problem down to being several problems all going at once.I believe that I need a new wiring harness, mine is old and the outside insulation is deteriorating. The little thing(not sure what the name is) that hangs off the back of the distributer, with 3wires going to it and the distributer, is covered in oil.I do have a leak in my first hose going to the turbo from the AMM(temperory repair in place).I do believe that my intake manifold butterfly needs to be cleaned.
My car was running somewhat normal before it decided to die while in transit(original post on brickboard was "bad airflow meter or ecu").Now that I have it somewhat running, when I take the AMM plug off the AMM.the car runs alright, except when it reaches a certain boost level, then it wants to cough and sputter(when I push the accelerator down fast and hold it).It does pretty mucht he same thing when I plug the AMM in,except, the engine wants to die almost anytime I hit the accelerator quickly or when the engine reaches rpm's above 1500.
I have checked the fuel pump relay(it almost looks new),and its working as advertised, also I have checked the wastegate actuator hose(it seems to be working fine). All the intake hosing from the turbo to the intercooler and the intake look alright(except for that first one with my ducttape temp repair)what else do I need to check before I go and buy a new AMM??
Is there a way I can check the spark boost,or the eng knock sensor??
anything fellas???
