Rewiring Help 140-160 72

I'm hoping to begin rewiring my entire car (yeah, I know I'm crazy, but it's REALLY bad) just before xmas in the aim of completeing it by feb.

What I'ld like to know is what capacity wires would be best to use (how far above spec) and some rough estimates on the amount of wire (in each colour) I'm going to need.

I'ld love to hear from anyone who's ever undertaken such a task and I'ld love to hear about what tricks you learnt along the way.
