Distributor/Rotor/Air Filter Replacement on B230FT

I am in the process of re-baselining my '93 945T bought in Aug and also to address terrible gas mileage -- less than 14 mpg in the city. That gets expensive with high-test gas. I had the timing belt done when I bought the the vehicle

At any rate, I got my new distributor and rotor and NGK plugs from IPD last night along w/my Haynes manual and took a quick look at the distributor job. The space is obviously quite confined necessitating a use of a stubby screwdriver to loosen the three screws. Are there any other tricks or issues I should be thinking about when as I replace these two items?

Am also replacing the air filter as well and hope that addresses my mileage issue. Any issue w/the air filter replacement? That looks reasonably straightforward.

Thanks
