Warm Idle High 200 80

I just had a mechanic work on my 240 which had a cold start problem. It would start but idle was low and sometimes cut out. I think the auto choke was not working. Anyway the guy adjusted the air valve and idle and now it idles well when cold. But in the eveneings on my return home, when it is warm the car idles high at around 1500rpm. I tried adjusting the plastic idle knob on the manifold but like one of the posts said, nada.

Any help will be most appreciated. The old girl doesn't have much left in her, pushing 230k so I need to look after her.
