Re: body molding and trim 200 1983

I'd look in a local auto salvage yard. The stuff won't be new

but it will likely be in good condition. The 4 door 240s are

pretty common and I see 3-4 in salvage yards every time I go.

Often at least one is from a late 80s or even a 90s vintage so

the trim and mouldings are in good shape. I use the door weather

striping on my 140 and 164's doors; I don't believe that volvo

changed the door shape over the whole 1966 - 1993 production run,

though there are 3 different kinds of weather striping that I've

run across (the stuff from the late 80s is the best that I've

found).

I've also used weather stripping from 2 door 240s on my 122

but it needs to be cut and glued and it isn't a 100% fit. Also

the 2 door 240s are much less common; I see them in salvage

yards only 3 times out of every 4 - 5 visits (about as often as

I see 140 / 164 type cars).

Good luck

chris
