Test of Michelin Artic Alpine's 200 1981

I've been putting a set of Michelin Artic Alpine's (195/70 R14) on my car for the past few years...but, the blizzard this week was the acid test. We hit the blizzard 200 miles into our 380 mile trip home. We saw cars off the road, 18 wheelers off the road or just plain stuck, a snow plow stuck, and a police car off the road. However, we were able to drive through this mess with no problems whatsoever. In fact, I was driving around front wheel drive cars that became stuck on the hills!

My '81 240 Wagon with the four snow tires, a limitted slip differential, and nicely loaded for the family trip performed better than many of the 4WD vehicles on the road. I was absolutely amazed as we we're driving through 6 inches of unplowed snow in places. These tires are absolutely incredible. Same car with standard all season tires would have been hopelessly stuck.
