I can't for the life of me figure out a logical pitch to convince your parents you need a new car. While the 245 can't provide many thrills in the speed department, it's dependable transportion and (from your description) will get you where you want to go. I wouldn't advise swapping it for a faster (or slower) car right now without knowing what you plan to be doing a year or so from now. If you're going away to college, you likely won't need any car. If you're going to commute to college, the 940 will be a nice ride, but will you be able to afford the higher maintenance costs of the turbo? If you're going to work after high school, you'll have $ for a newer car - or a nicer 940. How about a monster sound system in the ol' 245?
