Re: Oil Pressure light on.....Found problem :( 700 87

And it gets worse.....

After tackling the oil pressure light situation and getting the car home, I found what I think is the problem this morning.

I checked the oil on dipstick again, and the level was quarter-inch higher than normal (above full) and the "liquid" dripped off the dip stick like, dare I say, water/antifreeze.

Yep. And we know the rest of the story.

(I am assuming here that water/antifreeze will cause oil pressure issues.)

I'm hoping it's just a blown head gasket, or even cracked head, but not the block, please!

Where could the antifreeze enter? I don't recall having a steamy exhaust. It seems to be limited to the crankcase.

Also, what's the likelihood of damage to the engine with the antifreeze?

The engine probably wasn't running 10 minutes total, with RPMs in the 1000 to 2000 range. Didn't get to operating temp.

I'm also worrying about the turbo bearings, as well. This is/was a engine in good condition with 260K miles, taken care of by Mobil 1 synthetic 10W30 since birth.

After fixing the Fill-In-The-Blank, how do I flush the system? Is it possible?

If I wait until warmer weather or even spring, could rust/corrosion become a problem?

regards,

MAJ
