Sticky Door 200 1989

My driver's door is difficult to open from the outside. When you pull up on the handle it does not seem to fully disengage. I tried putting lithium grease on the latch mechanism at the door jamb but it did not help. Something is not releasing completely when I pull up on the handle. I can still open the door but it takes more effort than normal. Anybody have experience with this, is it worn out, do I have to replace internal parts??
