Ignition Click Problem - Intermittant Starting 120-130 64

HELP! In a 1964 122 wagon - my ignition coil and switch were replaced about 6 months ago. Everything worked fine. Beginning a week ago, every time I go to start (warm or cold) I turn the key and hear a single click under the hood. Turn the key again - one more single click. Turn it enough times (20-30 sometimes)and the starter will finally kick in. No rhyme or reason. Battery is fully charged. Checked and cleaned the main ground from the battery. Replaced the fuse box. Still, the problem persists.

I think it must be the ignition switch - will adding a push button starter help? Turning the key to the left does not illuminate the idiot lights - but I don't know if it did before the clicking/starting problem arose. Do I need to replace the switch? Is there a way to test before going that route? Is the starter on it's last leg? Is it just a contact point somewhere.

Thanks!
