wiring harness proceedure 200 84

I recently got a new wiring harness for my 242

turbo and plan on installing it. I searched the

archive and can't find a primer on the replacement

proceedure...which end to do first. I'm guess it's

not such a hard job but I've never done it. While

examining my current harness I am surprised that the

car even runs. What I did note it the wiring

portion that runs into the passenger side firewall

and I guess connects to the computer. The harness

plugs into it, each of my wires have been individually

wrapped with electrical tape, the turbo I say in the

junkyard (not where I'm getting my new harness) that I

saw had some severe rot. I'm wondering what the portion

on the other side of the firewall looks like; anyone

have experience with that? Otherwise I'm just looking

for some tips on re-installing an engine wiring harness.

I seriously looked in the archive and I wasn't able to

find a description of this.
