My baby's bogging down! 200 1984

I have an '84 245 with a B23F engine. Once the engine is warmed up she runs really well. But when I first stat it up (especially on cold days) the engine has a huge bogging down sensation when I accelerate. Idle is OK (it

doesn't stall or smoke) though there is some significant surging. When I begin to drive, on acceleration I get this huge loss of power/bogging down. The more I depress the peddle, the worse the problem seems to be. Then, suddenly, the problem seems to disappear. It seems like she's suffocating. Is it really an air problem or something else? I bought throttle body cleaner and will try that this weekend but I wondered if my problem was the AMM or if there were another possible problem I could try to fix first.

She really sounds like she's suffering so I'd appreciate any advice.

Thanks!
