Intermittent Power Blips 700 90

My '90 740 non-turbo wagon (160K) with a Rex/Regina system occasionally cuts out for a moment or two while driving, but has yet to stop the car. I've replaced the RPM sensor, which reduced the frequency considerably, but it still happens now and then. I've checked for oxidation on the console fuses, switched the identical radio suppression and fuel injection relays, changed the ignition cables, and inspected the original (stamped '89) fuel pump relay. Unlike f-p relays on my earlier Volvos, the solder tracks seem printed circuit rather than laid-on solder, and anyway are beneath a green coating. No signs of overheating or anything else awry. I suppose I'll remelt the endpoints of the solder runs, though these too look OK. Since I've just found out I must drive from the midwest to NY in a couple of days, I'm wondering what else I might check to avoid a breakdown somewhere outside Toledo. Thanks!
