Puny A/C for Texas weather? 200 89

Hola Bricksteers:

I know it might be a little soon for this,but I'm getting my 89 240's A/C ready for the brutally hot summers here in south Texas. My son's 83 245 has better cooling than this 89. Here's what I've repaired/replaced. New A/C compressor,drier and expansion valve. Still using R12. Good used heater valve, blower fan works great. With all this, it still blows only slightly cool air.

Bentley's says to blow out leaves from the fresh air intake. How to do this?

I've an auxiliary electric fan from a turbo that I can add to the front of the radiator.

Anyone have any other ideas (Florida bricksters???)
