Cold Weather - Idle all over the map! 200 1982

After fuel pumps, EGR removed, pulsair removed - the check valves were shot and were releasing warm exhaust the wrong direction and freezing up the entire air intake, plugs, rotor, etc. Anyway ... it has once again dropped down to -40 celcius (that just plain COLD in farenheit) and I have a bear of a time keeping the brick running at idle, especially under load. If I shut her down while warm and let her sit, I am guessing there is enough heat to thaw out the throttle body again. I am assuming that the throttle body is freezing up or possibly the air idle valve. Any suggestions? I thought I had the problem solved when I blocked off the pulsair hose to the air intake, but the COLD is causing me great headaches again. When it warms up, then she runs reasonably again. Please help. Is this just a dirty throttle body? It is a 240GL CIS injected Canadian model (B@# engine I believe).
