shocks/struts comparison 200 '88

i'm in the market for struts and shocks and have seen many posts about boge, kyb and bilstein. besides price, what's the real difference between them?? i'm on a very strict budget at the monent and want the most bang for my buck to suit my driving habits. are there any other brands that are comparable and might offer a better cost ratio?? my driving habits are possibly that of a 90 year old man with the exception of cateracts and driving in the left lane for 40 miles, doing about 30 with my signal light on. in other words, i'm not a speed freak, don't need sport suspension, i may drive 5-10mph over the posted limit. i want the car to have a good ride and feel, that's all. i'm not looking for it to compare to a bently either. what's your suggestion??
