242 resurrection/Over my head? 200 83

Hi guys,

Ill be honest,I need a little encouragement.Got the 242glt home last monday, but today was the big teardown day.Car had been sitting for over a year with blown turbo. However as I started to inspect the motor saw plenty of oil below #1 cyl and all over exhaust side.Trying to find leaks before I intercool and swap to 230 intake.Got the head off.Gasket seemed fine.Front cam seal seemed to be fine, but could have been the culprit.

Should I investigate further,Intermed seal, crank seal.Man I feel like Im over my head on this one.Got a haynes and tools, but running out of inspirition.Usually Im not one to give up on anything.

Anyway, what to do with the head.Plenty oily on same side.Valve job?175k miles. What else? Thanks in advance for some inspirition.
