COLD RUNNING PROBLEMS 900 1989

2.3 TURBO 175K UK Miles Estate

Can anyone give me some advice with a friend's car :

Originally the alternator went AWOL (according to the volvo dealership where it was repaired)which in turn knocked out the ECU and the lamda sensor. The garage spent some considerable time working on the car and repaired/replaced all the above items. When the car was picked up from the dealership my friend noticed that when it was cold it kept on stalling unless the throttle was depressed slighlty. It also ran very roughly unitl it had warmed up fully (5-6 miles). When the car has warmed up it behaves as normal. Has anyone experienced anything similar ?

Thanks in advance for any help/advice.

Micahel Low.
