Tools required for front end rebuild 200 84

Hi folks. I am about to take on a rebuild of the front end on my 84 242T. I will be replacing:

struts (Bilsteins, and yes, I am getting the inserts)

ball joints

outter tie rod ends

control arm bushings

I am curious as to what "special" tools I will really need. I know I need to either buy or rent a good spring compressor. Other than that, will I need a press for the ball joints and rod ends, or will a pickle fork work? I will be replacing all four, so I don't really care about tearing the old boots. If using a pickle fork, should I seperate the ball joint from the lower mount while still on the car?

In terms of extracting the strut insert, will I need any special tools or can I make it work (correctly) with some big metric sockets and wrenches? I will be taking the control arms to a shop to be pressed.

Thanks,

Dave
