Actually I didn't find that angle adapter very usefull. I got the proper Volvo/ VDO sender kit from the dealar. The angle adapter is in my box of volvo spare parts. It made the space problem worse. The sender will fit in with just the thread adapter. It makes changing the alternator belts more difficult, but not impossible
