Turbo tubing size. 200 85

I just got an '85GLTi and need to replace some of the vac lines.7mm seems like too tight a fit. Does anyone know the correct size in either metric or US? Also there is a line running from a small "canister" located on the pas. side wheelwell to a section of the main intake tubing.(vertical section before the intercooler) The small line is just stuck through a hole in the side of the intake tube. Am I missing a nipple there? Is there a conection inside the intake tube? Should Vac line be ok or would fuel line work better?
