hood hinges 140-160 1970

One of the things that the hood hinge pivots on on my 164

exploded, or at least popped out. I was able to "fix" it by

shoving a bolt into the hole so at least I can open and close

my hood. The hinge got bent pretty bad, though.

I'm going to go to a salvage yard and buy a new pair of

hinges, and probably drill a hole through each of the pivots

and put a bolt and couple of washers through them, so that

none of the others pop out again.

My question is --

of course a big grilled 164 hinge will work on my car because

that's what my car's got, but, will later 164 hinges fit?

Will 140 hinges work? Both are much more common than the early

164.

Thanks

chris
