Idle control swappable?? 200 1984

Hello all...The idle air valve in my 84 240 [B23/M46] is going bad again...and I don't think it will withstand taking apart again for good cleaning. [I know it wasn't meant to come apart in the first place, but that seems to be the only way to get it going again.] I have another one attached to an '85 B230 sitting in my garage [was hooked up to an auto trans.]

Are they swappable? What are the differences regarding engine behaviour and drivability??

I'm trying to avoid spending $150 to replace the thing...but my wife is getting cranky over it...........

Keith
