Power lost then miraculous recovery? 700 1990

Hello again. A funny thing happened to me this morning on the way to work. I was driving my '90 780T on the Houston Highway (60 MPH) when suddenly the car lost power, rpm to zero, turbo power lost, then as the car was slowing down, I stepped on the gas pedal and the engine recovered. I exited and the car seemed fine. But then at 35 MPH, the car seemed to have lost power again, as it was slowing down, I stepped on the gas and the car regained power. The fuel pump relay is new, sparks plugs recently replaced. Where do I look for possible reason for this? As always, thanks for any advise.
