Cranking(PLEASE HELP) 900 91

I have a 940SE. I was driving down the highway and heard a soft click sound. the RPM gauge dropped to zero, I was using the cruise control so I tried pressing the gas and the turbo guage would move up & down as I pressed the pedal. When I got to the side of the road the motor would turn over but wouldn't start. I checked the battery voltage(11.93) checked terminals and they were in good shape. I checked for fire to the plugs and did not have any. So I stuck a new coil and still no fire to plugs. i put the voltage meter on the wires to the coil and got 11.91 with key on, but when I would turn the key over all the way to crank, I would loose voltage. This is with the wires still unplugged from the coil. I left them unplugged and run a ground and hot wire to the coil and could get fire to the plugs that way. Could someone PLEASE help. the closest repair I've got is over an hour away.
